1- SodaStream bottles are difficult to clean and sometimes smell weird
I know it sounds simple, but cleaning a car and a soda bottle can be pretty tricky.
There are many mistakes you can make if you’re not careful.
And poor SodaStream cleaning is probably the most common cause of damage to most SodaStreams.
Luckily for you I have a whole article about the proper cleaning and maintenance of SodaStream machines.
You can click the button to read the Ultimate SodaStream Cleaning Guide.
2 Water without carbonation although emitting CO2
There are many reasons for that: The water is not cold enough to spoil the SodaStream bottles.
I will discuss this topic in detail, in my article on the causes of low carbonation and how to correct it, you can read more.
3- Water overflow
Overflow is a common problem with SodaStream devices, but it is very preventable.
This topic is covered in detail in my article How to manage SodaStream overflows, click on the link.
4- It is difficult to find a replacement for CO2 cylinders.
One of the biggest problems with all soda streams is the terrible struggle to find a place where the cans or tanks can be filled with CO2.
You can now click on this link and enter your address to find the nearest location where you can replace your CO2 tanks.
Another option is to buy on Amazon. You can click to see the current price.
Although it is usually more expensive than a sugar cane exchange.
If you’re really disappointed, maybe it’s time to switch to another carbonator. For more details see my article on carbonate without CO2 reservoir.
5- You press, but the gas does not come out of the SodaStream
This is usually the case when it comes to your own:
1- The SodaStream tanks are not screwed down properly when the tank and the screw at the rear are unscrewed.
2- Your SodaStream bottles are gas cylinders and you need to have them replaced. Click here to read my article explaining the costs, where and how you can have them replaced.
6- The SodaStream carbonation button does not work.
The SodaStream button tends to fail because it is made of plastic, which weakens when used.
And over time, the carbonation button will make your life difficult and force you to press harder and harder, and sometimes it won’t work at all.
I’ve found an excellent manual that can help. Watch the short video below, but be careful. If this video doesn’t work, if you need to consider buying a new SodaStream, read on for my recommendations for a better SodaStream.
7- SodaStream no longer works or has an internal problem
SodaStream has excellent customer service and is ready to help you with any problems that may occur with your SodaStream machine.
So I advise you to contact them. You can click on this link to visit their contact page.
Better yet, if you have a warranty, don’t try to open SodaStream, just bring it back and get a new one, , if you open it, you can easily lose your warranty.
In addition, you should not take any risks and try to repair these machines yourself, you are dealing with CO2 gas under pressure, better leave these matters to the experts.
Note in the margin : Did you also know that SodaStream bottles expire after a certain period of time? You can click to read when and why they expire and learn more about SodaStream bottles.
Tips to protect your SodaStream machine against damage
- Only soda water and no other drinks,
- Carbonation from other beverages will damage your SodaStream.
- Never use hot water, bottled SodaStream bleach or wash in the dishwasher.
- Always wipe and cover the SodaStream after use or store it in a safe place to prevent dust and dirt from accumulating.
If your SodaStream is working and causing a lot of problems, an upgrade may be the right option.
This is true if you own a machine for a few years, because through continuous use these machines will wear out.
And repairs and upgrades can be more expensive and dangerous because it’s compressed CO2 gas.
If you are tired of SodaStream products, but still want sparkling water, read my article about the best SodaStream alternatives to find the carbonated device that’s right for you,
On the other hand, , if you plan to stay with SodaStream , I strongly recommend SodaStream Source.
It is the latest model from SodaStream with all the new features and, in my opinion, at a very affordable price and, most importantly, it is very durable and will not break so easily. You can read my review in SodaStream Source
